A meaningful map starts with a place you know. 3D Nautical Maps lets you frame a bay, harbor, island, lake, or coastline and turn it into a layered design for your workshop. You choose the boundaries and board dimensions instead of working around a fixed map template.
What comes in a layered map download?
The design has one land layer and five aligned water layers. The land and water shapes work together to show the shoreline and changing depths when stacked. Your export ZIP also includes a full-color assembly preview to use as a reference while making the map.
Choose SVG, DXF, or EPS for vector work, or PNG and JPG for raster output. A layered nautical map SVG retains paths that compatible laser software can assign to cutting or engraving operations. All layers must keep the same scale and alignment when imported.
Make the geography personal
Control road detail, place labels, and points of interest. Add personal landmarks with icons and captions, and use a title, coordinates, or compass rose where the design has room. Inspect the assembled preview and each layer before exporting.
Planning laser-cut lake map files
Start by finding your lake and generating a preview. A mapped shoreline does not guarantee detailed underwater measurements. Water-depth coverage varies, so check the contours before committing material to a custom lake map SVG. A smaller selection or a different board size can also change which details remain practical to cut.
Digital files for your own build
This service does not sell finished wooden maps. You supply the laser, compatible software, materials, paint, and assembly. Set power and speed for your machine and test a small sample. Registration is free. The early access feedback trial includes five free maps per account, with a short survey before each new map’s first download. After the trial, the complete package is $9.95 USD per map: all six layers and supported formats, unlimited personal landmarks, a full-color preview and assembly diagram, minor refinements within the original geographic boundaries, and unlimited downloads of your saved map files. No subscription or setup fees.
